As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.
The UK Infected Blood Inquiry (UK IBI) has been established to examine why NHS patients in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland were given infected blood and/or infected blood products. SNBTS is a Core Participant in the UK IBI and wishes to appoint an Inquiry Project Manager to coordinate the responses of SNBTS to questions from the UKI IBI and to manage the associated programme of work to ensure responses are made on time, within budget and are of a high quality standard. The post is based in the Jack Copland Centre, Edinburgh although there will be a requirement to visit other NSS Sites and UK IBI venues from time to time as part of the role of the Post.
Applicants for this Post should hold an Honours and/or Masters Degree in a Business-related or a Life Sciences subject with evidence of post-graduate work experience in a Project Management Role in the public or private sectors.
Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.
For an informal discussion on the post, please contact Cathy Rooney, Quality Systems Manager on 0131 314 5632 or Hazel Thomson, Interim Director SNBTS on 0131 314 5517.
