An exciting opportunity is available within the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) within Glasgow Royal Infirmary for a Band 7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)/ Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner (annex 21) to join our team.

The AAU is a medical unit and receives patients, primarily via Primary Care, who require medical assessment.  Patients will present with a wide variety of Medical conditions and will vary from ambulatory to acutely unwell. Patients are assessed, investigated and discharged with relevant treatment/advice or admitted for on-going care.

 The ANP will work within all areas of the AAU and will assess/treat any presentation that is within your sphere of competence, supported by Senior Registrars and Acute Medical Consultants.

You will work within the nursing and multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care to a defined patient group, competently performing the necessary technical, invasive and physical aspects of the role.  You must be highly motivated in your on-going development as well as aiding the development of the ANP service, undertaking relevant research/audit where necessary.

It is essential that you are a qualified ANP (or are willing to work towards) and hold a relevant Advanced Practice qualification at Masters Level.  You should have substantial experience working as an ANP within an Acute Assessment Unit/Emergency Department or other relevant Acute area.

The shift pattern is 11.5 hours over 7 day
