The community Perinatal Mental Health Nurse will work within a specialist multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with other agencies to provide assessment, care and treatment for pregnant and postnatal women (up to 12 months), with moderate to severe perinatal mental ill health who require secondary care mental health services across NHS Lanarkshire.
The community Perinatal Mental Health Nurse will deliver expert interventions, ongoing monitoring and risk assessment including assessment of the mother-infant relationship and infant development in the context of maternal disorder. The Nurse will work in partnership with women, their infants and families and advocate for them ensuring they receive person-centred care and treatment at the right time and in the right place. The role also includes providing a liaison service to the local maternity unit and carrying out assessments where required.
