An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the Beatson Clinical Research Facility (B-CRF) research nurse team. The B-CRF specialises in a wide range of cancer clinical trials in both early and late phase settings. In addition to facilities within the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre the B-CRF has outreach departments in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), New Victoria Hospital (NVH) and Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH).  We are recruiting a Research Nurse to assist us in providing high quality nursing care for patients participating in Clinical Research. The applicant should be an experienced RGN with a minimum of 1year post registration experience. Experience in oncology is also desirable.  You will be based at the Royal Alexandria Hospital and will also cover lnverclyde hospital site as part of the late phase nursing team. The ability to travel between all sites within NHS GGC is essential. This is a fixed term post (22.5hrs per week), with renewable option.  You will be trained and supported to coordinate the recruitment, education, monitoring and follow-up of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data. You will work collaboratively with Principal Investigators and the wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of your own case load of research patients. You will work to research principles, including confidentiality, randomisation procedures, informed consent and ethical issues, and have an understanding of research within the context of the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice.  Attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, good IT skills and a methodical approach are key.  It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have relevant post registration experience in an acute clinical setting.
