Consultant Nephrology and General (Internal) Medicine
University Hospital Monklands (UHM) is looking to appoint a Consultant in Nephrology and General (Internal) Medicine to join a friendly, dynamic and motivated existing consultant team. We have an excellent renal multidisciplinary team to allow us to provide holistic care to a wide range of patients. We are committed to providing an enjoyable and rewarding working experience, with scope for developing subspeciality interests and driving service change. It is a particularly exciting time as we plan our services for the future through the Monklands Replacement Project.
The UHM team provides renal care for the whole of NHS Lanarkshire, with outreach clinics on the Wishaw and Hairmyres sites. Currently all Nephrology inpatient and dialysis services are located on the Monklands site, and the consultant team also contribute to acute medical receiving and the care of general medical inpatients. There is scope for contribution to wider professional activities e.g. medical education, research and development, quality improvement and clinical governance.
