The Care Home Education Facilitator will work as an integral member of the Practice Education and Care Home Education Facilitator (PEF/CHEF) Team within NHSGGC NMAPH Directorate. Primarily working to support the implementation of the NMC (2018) Standards of Student Support, Supervision and Assessment, to enhance the quality of the practice learning experience of student nurses. This will be achieved by providing support to practice supervisors and practice assessors through education and development activities and contributing to the development of the care setting as a positive learning environment which promotes a values based, person centred approach to care and learning. This post will work in partnership with practice and educational colleagues supporting and facilitating shared learning/ collaborative working across NHS, Care Home practice learning environments NHS Education for Scotland and Higher Education Institutions.
The principle aims of the role are to:
Maximise the quality of the clinical learning environment by supporting staffs educational/ development needs to effectively support learners
Contribute to quality of care provided by facilitating and supporting practice education and development as well as signposting practice learning opportunities
Support quality supervision and assessment and those in wider practice education support roles.
Contribute to collaborative working between the Care Homes, the NHS and Education Institutions.
Maximise the contribution that practice learning experiences make to the development of the future nursing workforce across sectors.
Support Health and Social Care Integration through enhancing cross sector partnership between Care Homes, NHS GGC and Higher Education Institutions supporting pre-registration students.
It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have Knowledge and understanding of supervision and assessment of pre and post registration student nurses. The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday 9-5pm
