NHS Golden Jubilee are one of a number of NHS Boards hosting this fantastic training opportunity to undertake the Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) programme, delivered in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).
We are looking for motivated individuals who are keen to progress to become registered professionals within the operating theatre environment. On successful completion of the course, NHS Golden Jubilee will assist you in applying for registered Operating Department Practitioner posts.
This is a 2-year full time course, consisting of clinical placements, along with on-line teaching through the Virtual Learning Environment provided by UWS. Your clinical experience will predominately be gained at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital, however, some skills will be gained on other sites. You will gain a Diploma of Higher Education in Operating Department as well as being fully registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Please note, as this is an educational opportunity there is no salary attached to this position, university course fees are fully paid by NHS Golden Jubilee.
Entry into the programme requires Passes in the Scottish National Qualifications in five subjects including two at H Level; or passes in the GCSE/GCE in four subjects including one at A Level; or SQA National Qualifications/Edexcel Foundation/SVQ level 3 or above; or SCQF level 6. Applications will also be considered from those holding Professional or Educational qualifications at SCQF Level 6 or above or Vocational Qualifications (e.g. SVQ or NQ) equivalent to at least SCQF Level 6 or above who can evidence work experience in a relevant discipline.
