An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen in phase 3 theatres at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, for a band 7 Theatre Co-ordinator. This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated staff member to further develop their leadership skills.  You will have theatre experience at a senior level and be able to demonstrate on-going professional development.

This fast paced theatre suite offers varied surgical specialities that include Maxillo Facial, ENT, General Surgery, Orthopaedic Trauma, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Urology & Paediatrics, covering Elective and Emergency procedures in all of the afore mentioned specialities. There are a further 2 elective orthopaedic theatre on site.

NHS Fife is the first district general hospital to support robotic surgery with the focus on general surgery, urology and gynaecology.

You will provide professional and clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, and will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and effective management of the operating theatre by planning and implementing patient centred care, and for the setting of standards of care. You will be primarily responsible for ensuring all theatre lists run smoothly by coordinating the suite on a daily basis and be responsible for monitoring daily theatre efficiency.

You should be RGN or ODP qualified and possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to work cohesively within the multidisciplinary team and have evidence of strong leadership and negotiation skills.

Hours will primarily be worked Monday to Friday; however, you may need to meet the needs of the service.

This post is a secondment for 12 months.
