A Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) provides  support, educational input and development activities for preceptors/practice supervisors/practice assessors and students within HNC, pre-registration and post-registration education programmes. The role aims to enhance the quality of the practice learning experience and positively contribute to the future nursing/midwifery workforce.  The role aims to maximise the number of student nurses and midwives who can be supported within clinical practice areas, enhance and support the role of the preceptor/practice supervisor/practice assessor and ensure that the student experience is of the highest quality and enables the greatest benefit from the individual clinical learning experience.

We are looking to recruit a registered Midwife or Nurse as a Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) to our team.  As a PEF you will be part of our Practice Education Team supporting training and development of staff across the wider workforce of NHS Dumfries and Galloway. 

The post holder will be required to work autonomously but within a wider team and to have close working links with the University of West of Scotland.  The post holder will be required to have experience in, and commitment to, teaching and facilitation of learning in clinical practice, a working knowledge of the NMC practice assessor and supervisor standards and NHS Education for Scotland Quality Standards for Practice Placement.  Communication and interpersonal skills to include presentation, influencing, and negotiation and report writing are also required.
