CONSULTANT POST in NEUROSURGERY
(10 Programmed Activities)
We are seeking to appoint a Consultant Neurosurgeon to become part of a five consultant team. This is an additional post following reduction in hours of an existing consultant.
The Clinical Neurosciences Department provides neurological services to Tayside and NE Fife serving a population of over 500,000. It includes Neurosurgery, Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Neuropsychology and the Chronic Pain Service.
Ranked 1st in the UK for medicine in the Complete University Guide 2021 and the Guardian University Guide 2021, the University of Dundee Medical School is integrated into the Ninewells Hospitals campus and has an international reputation for excellence in teaching and high impact clinical research that places it amongst the best places in the world to study and to practice medicine.
Tayside and NE Fife have a variety of attractive amenities. There is a good range of choice in housing and excellent schools. There are three universities (two in Dundee and one in St Andrews). Perth is the gateway to the Highlands with ready access to fishing, hill walking, field sports and skiing. The waters of the Tay Estuary and North Sea are ideal for sailing. It is within close commuting distance for Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required.
Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview. Alternatively, applicants should already be in possession of CESR/CESR (CP) at date of interview.
