We are delighted to invite applications for a range of opportunities within our AMH psychological therapies services across NHS Lothian.  Psychology services in Lothian are expanding and we are looking for enthusiastic and committed psychologists and psychological therapists.

As part of this, we are seeking individuals to work within our Edinburgh City and West Lothian Psychological Therapies Services, with 18 month fixed term opportunities for up to 9.0 wte Band 8as, as follows:

5.0wte – Edinburgh City (various locations, core base Royal Edinburgh Hospital)

2.0wte – West Lothian Psychological Therapies Service (PTS) –base: St John’s Hospital, Livingston

2.0wte – East Lothian Psychological Therapies Service (PTS)

You will have a varied individual clinical caseload across the spectrum of psychological and mental health difficulties and be supported via individual and group supervision and the Senior Psychologists in each service. We are planning an exciting expansion of the psychological therapies core groups programme in each of these areas and there could be opportunity to deliver and facilitate this. This currently includes our Survive & Thrive, Compassion Focused Therapy and Change UP groups. There are opportunities to support the training and supervision of others; eligibility to supervise trainees/newly qualified practitioners is desirable.

We would request if you have a preferred location to state this on your application. However, Psychology is able to support flexible, remote working for both clinical and administrative work so that location can be discussed. We have also enhanced our administration teams so that staff can expect robust administrative support in their roles.

The department is supported by Royal Edinburgh Associated Services (REAS), there are reporting lines to the Director of Royal Edinburgh Associated Services (REAS) as well as to the Executive Nurse Director.  All posts are managed within Psychology. There are a wide range of services based across each of the 4 HSCP’s in Lothian where psychologists and psychological therapists work within multi-disciplinary teams.  The psychology service is led by the Director of Psychology with a team of senior staff.  We are committed to supporting and developing staff with CPD and time for research, quality improvement and other programmes that enhance the quality of care provided.

Please review the job description and person specification for further details and note that you will  be required to hold a relevant postgraduate qualification on appointment (Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical or Counselling Psychology) as a minimum requirement and are eligible for HCPC registration.
