The adult learning disability team in Glasgow has an exciting opportunity for a part time band 7 to join the service. This post will be based in North East Glasgow but will be expected to cover South and NW as required.

The post holder will be an expert practitioner in the field of learning disability and autonomously manage a clinical caseload of clients with complex health and social needs including mental health needs, physical disability, sensory processing difficulties, challenging behaviour and forensic issues as well as assessment and provision of specialist adaptations and equipment.

 The post holder will be required to engage with the wider MDT team and function as an integral member of the local senior management team, participating in the implementation of delegated local service developments as well as the wider NHSGG&C OT Service, evaluating with reference to clinical effectiveness, clinical governance and national drivers.  This will require the post holder to lead on OT and team audit projects in conjunction with Care Group Lead OT and senior staff.

The post holder will be responsible for the management of junior staff as part of the supervision and appraisal systems and for the supervision of under and post graduate pre-registration OT students. Practice placement education experience is essential. The post holder will also support the LD learning and development programme for staff across NHSGG&C and provide education to other staff and agencies.

Applicants must have advanced knowledge working with people with a learning disability and be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills.  They must be HCPC registered and qualified to degree or diploma level. This post is part time and hours will be worked over 3 days
