Job Advert
You will work as part of a team supporting a stable ventilator dependent child within the hospital setting and to continue that support independently within the home and wider community with support from a registered paediatric nurse. You will deliver care to the child by carrying out specific care tasks after completion of a competency based training programme. In the hospital environment, assignment of work will be by the Registered Nurse. You will work supervised and exercise initiative within the scope of the role when providing patient care, however, a trained nurse will be available for advice and guidance. In the community you will work independently to assist the parent(s) in direct delivery of care for their stable ventilated child. This will include a range of duties that will form part of a care plan that has been previously agreed with parents and qualified nursing staff. It would be desirable if you have a SVQ level 3 or equivalent. It is essential that you have previous child care experience and that you hold a current driving licence. The shift pattern for this post is flexible to meet the needs of the service.
