GENERAL PRACTITIONER (salaried role)


Riverview Practice, Wick, Caithness, North Highland


Salary Scale: £81,229 – £91,564 (pro-rata) (20/21 rates) (depending on experience), plus car allowance of £5k per annum, CNORIS cover, 6 weeks annual leave per annum and 2 weeks study leave. Golden Hello incentives and relocation packages are also available to eligible candidates.


Are you a GP who is interested in people and has the ability to work flexibly with our multi-professional team, offering consultations to suit patient needs alongside service delivery?

Are you comfortable providing telephone triage, remote video consults and / or a more traditional face to face service when required?

Are you a creative thinker and has a genuine interest in working closely with the team to support innovation and evolution of practice systems and processes (www.riverviewpractice.co.uk)?

We have an exciting opportunity for a GP with these skills to join our friendly, dynamic and forward looking team. 

You will be integral to providing a high quality, patient centred service to our 7,500 patients. 

Our team includes GP’s, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Pharmacist Practitioner, Pharmacy Technician, First Contact Physiotherapist, Advanced Mental health Nurse, Practice Nurses, Practice Management and very experienced Clinical support. 

The county of Caithness offers a well-developed health and social care network including the Rural General Hospital in Wick which is a few minutes drive from the practice and excellent links with Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. There is no out-of-hours attached to this role, however sessions are available locally if you are interested.


To top all this off, you will be living and working in an area of outstanding beauty, with a wide range of sporting, social and cultural activities available.   Internationally renowned surfing is right on your doorstep along with spectacular scenery and wildlife in abundance; including puffins, whales and the stunning Aurora Borealis.  We have minimal traffic with no road congestion, a safe and family oriented community and excellent schooling.
