Biomedical Support Worker (Band 3) – Fixed Term – 12 months
Salary Scale (£21,709 - £23,603 )per annum
Location – Blood Transfusion Centre, Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh
As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale – through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.
We are currently seeking to recruit a Biomedical Support Worker for a fixed term period of 12 months; you will be trained to carry out a range of general duties to provide vital support for the Specialist Healthcare Scientists in our busy Clinical Laboratory.
This full time contract is a 37.5 hour working week; once the individual is trained there will be a requirement to participate in 24/7 out of hours shift work. No relevant experience is required as full training will be given.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure check. Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
