This post is for a period of 12 months and is based at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. The renal unit is part of the Scottish Paediatric Renal and Urology Network (SPRUN) and provides multidisciplinary inpatient care for children in Scotland requiring renal replacement therapy and for all renal patients within the GGC area. Each year we have around 500 acute admissions, 8-10 renal transplants, 4-10 children on haemodialysis and 8-15 on chronic peritoneal dialysis. We work closely with paediatricians with an interest in nephrology in the other children’s hospitals in Scotland (Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh) and in the District General Hospitals (DGHs) in Scotland.
