A full time, permanent post has arisen within the Department of Psychological Services & Research based in Dumfries for a Clinical Psychologist to work within the Adult Mental Health team with a particular focus on Access to Psychological Therapies HEAT target waiting times initiatives.

This post also includes the Psychological Therapies Training Co-ordinator role which is a NES funded post looking at the training needs across the Mental Health Directorate regarding psychological knowledge and skills.
 
Applications are invited from enthusiastic and energetic HCPC registered Clinical Psychologists who want to play a key role in this service.  

As well as working directly with service users, the post holder will be expected to train and supervise other health professionals and voluntary sector staff who are using psychological approaches in their work.  The post holder will also provide consultancy and training to community based teams.  Development of special interests in clinical areas and service delivery are encouraged.

Dumfries & Galloway is situated in the South West of Scotland and the department has a complement of around 70 staff, with Clinical Psychologists in all major specialities and it is a friendly, supportive and lively place to work.  We have strong links with Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling Universities and take trainees from both Clinical Psychology and Masters courses. We also provide placements and supervision for CBT Therapists.
The post has dedicated CPD and supervision time.
