The West of Scotland Cancer Research Network is recruiting an innovative, ambitious and motivated Band 6 Senior Research Nurse based in the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre to support clinical trial activity across multiple disease groups. You will work as part of the established SCRN Research Network Manager.  The hours of work are 37.5 per week worked over 5 days Monday - Friday. You will provide a streamlined service to investigators ensuring clinical trials are conducted safely and efficiently.  We are recruiting a nurse to assist in providing high quality and patient centered care for patients participating in cancer clinical trials across a portfolio of allocated trials.

Working collaboratively with Principal Investigators and the wider multi-disciplinary team, you will support and coordinate the screening, recruitment, on-going management, monitoring and follow-up of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data. You will work to research principles, including confidentiality, randomisation procedures, informed consent and ethical issues, and have an understanding of research within the context of the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).  It is essential that you are currently a Registered Adult Nurse with the NMC and  it is essential you have either significant clinical trial experience and/or experience in cancer nursing and educated to (or be willing to work towards) degree level. You should possess good communication and interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working in a research/clinical trials environment. Attention to detail and a methodical approach are key requirements, along with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic IT skills would be beneficial.  

 This post is for 1 year in the first instance with possibility of extension subject to continued funding
