Band 6 Community Respiratory Team

Specialist Physiotherapist

37.5 hours /fixed term to 31/03/2020  

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our dynamic Community Respiratory Team . This team is focused on the prevention of admission of patients with acute respiratory infections and supporting the early supported discharge of these patients from hospital. Clinically you will deliver respiratory physiotherapy assessment and treatment across Edinburgh City. This post is based in the community and all visits are based in patients homes. The post holder will have a key role in leading and facilitating co-ordination of this winter service. The team consists of band 7, 6 and 4 staff.

Candidates must have clinical experience of Respiratory physiotherapy, Acute Medicine and Medicine of the Elderly. Ability to prioritise and discharge plan for a wide range of presentations is essential, as is clarity of communication and well-demonstrated organisational skills. Experience of supervision, mentorship and appraisal of other staff members / students is expected, and evidence of development in aspects of leadership is key.

The range of conditions and specialties encountered, and requirement for excellence in clinical reasoning and team working in this post based with the Community Respiratory Team will allow the successful candidate to gain extensive and in-depth experience as a band 6 physiotherapist.
