Are you a Healthcare Scientist (Epidemiology) with experience of working at a senior level?  Why not consider an opportunity to work within Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection (ARHAI) Scotland, part of National Services Scotland, working in partnership to deliver ARHAI priority services which enable and support a safer and healthier Scotland.
ARHAI leads and supports efforts to prevent healthcare associated infection by means of guidance development, surveillance, operational support and training, covering areas such as incident and outbreak management, decontamination, the built environment, research and infection prevention and control expertise.
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Scientist (Epidemiology) to join the ARHAI Group to provide Scientific leadership in delivery  of ARHAI Scotland’s five Priority Programmes; ICBED (Infection Control in Built Environment & Decontamination), NPGO (National Policies, Guidance and Outbreaks), CARHAI (Community Antimicrobial Resistance & Healthcare Associated Infection), Scottish Surveillance of HAI Programme (SSHAIP) and Scottish One Health Antimicrobial Use and Antimicrobial Resistance (SONAAR).
Could you provide strategic leadership to an area of activity to make sure it effectively influences policies and actions to reduce the burden of ill health from this area on the population of Scotland?  Could you be the primary source of expert scientific advice and specialist epidemiological knowledge to stakeholders?
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisations skills, someone who can prioritise, assess and decision make, someone who is proactive, innovative and enthusiastic.
Knowledge of ARHAI Scotland would be advantageous.  It is vital that you demonstrate the NSS values of working with respect and care, openness and integrity.
This is a National post.  The location of the post is flexible and will be hosted by ARHAI Scotland.  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic working from home may be required.
Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.
