We require a Staff Nurse/ ODP for a busy Day Surgery Unit within the Victoria ACH. With the increasing need to optimize Day Surgery procedures this roles is vital to support the Senior Charge Nurse and the multi disciplinary team to create a gold standard level of care and experience for our patients. The Unit has 8 Operating theatres, a treatment room, primary recovery and a 48 bedded admission/ discharge area. In addition we also have a 12 bedded ward to provide overnight care for the patients that are unable to be discharged on the Day of Surgery. All areas within the Unit work together to ensure a patient centered approach for all patients. The surgical specialties are Ophthalmology, Urology, ENT, Oral Surgery, Pain, General surgery, Breast, Ortho and Gynaecology.
It would be desirable if this individual has previous theatre experience at Band 5 and have a professional, motivated and flexible approach to service delivery and improvement. It is essential you are a Registered Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner with the appropriate registration. It is also desirable you have recent experience within an operating theatre or immediate postoperative recovery room environment (HDU experience and experience during training may be relevant). The shift pattern is days worked Monday to Friday.
