Specialist – Special Care Dentistry (Band C)
Full time 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced dentist to join our team to replace a colleague who has been recently promoted.
We provide primary and secondary care services under GDS regulations to adults with a wide range of disability and impairment, people with medically compromising conditions including those with mental health issues, patients in long stay hospitals and care homes, conscious sedation and day case general anaesthesia for patients with complex disabilities, and for people who are inmates in the two prisons in Lothian.
We are looking for a self motivated individual with excellent communication, patient management and clinical skills who can demonstrate leadership and team management qualities and a willingness to support your colleagues within the team and become involved in staff training.
Applicants should have full GDC registration, should be on the specialist list in special care dentistry and have at least five years experience in providing care to adults requiring special care dentistry. A relevant post graduate qualification is desirable but not essential; you should preferably have some experience in a senior clinical role.
The post is full time but part time and job sharing will be considered.
