You will be joining an expanding Locality Pharmacy Support Team working to support safe, appropriate and cost effective prescribing in the 9 General Practices in Dumfries and Upper Nithsdale.
This Pharmacy Technician role will be based within the General Practices in Dumfries and Upper Nithsdale and you will be directly involved with the promotion of cost-effective prescribing and implementation of these initiatives as well as the implementation of the Pharmacotherapy service as part of the new GMS contract. The role will include running prescribing audits in Nithsdale practices, dealing with medication requests following discharge from hospital and covering a number of administrative roles dealing with referrals to Pharmacy Services, requests for ‘special’ medicines, drug shortage queries and ad hoc medication-related queries. Joint working with other Health and Social Care colleagues will be routine, as well as with the multidisciplinary and professional teams within the GP practices and local Community Pharmacies.
