What you'll do

Providing maternity leave cover, you will provide high level administrative support to the Director of Finance and Directorate senior team, working alongside the current Executive Officer (1.0 wte).


Key tasks will include but are not restricted to;

  • Working with the current full-time Executive Officer, ensuring the smooth running of the office of the Director of Finance and take collective ownership of activities and tasks.
  • Support the Director and Senior Finance team on a 0.6wte basis by providing administrative support, to include the co-ordination of travel arrangements, diary and email management and the co-ordination/planning of meetings.
  • Ensure the Directorate induction pack is kept up to date
  • Prepare committee papers and assist with the collation and drafting of reports.
  • Draft, review and proof-read papers and presentations.
  • Continuously review and improve business administration processes.
  • Work with the Senior Finance Team and Communications Department to agree the design of the Annual Accounts document.


What you'll bring

Key skills will include but are not limited to;

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with Directorate stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently demonstrating excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work using your own initiative and evidence a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Experience of proactively managing and actioning a broad range of complex enquiries and ensuring follow-up action is taken.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • High standard of IT skills including Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Visio and Powerpoint
  • Demonstrable experience of providing high-level administrative support to senior management.
  • Work with the utmost levels of confidentiality and discretion.

 
Travel maybe required to a NES offices, primarily at the Edinburgh office.
