An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Dental Technical Support Worker to join the Restorative Laboratory within Glasgow Dental Hospital. You will be responsible for the provision of model construction and general back-up duties to the dental technical staff of the Glasgow Dental Hospital and School. You will carry out construction of study models for clinical diagnosis, primary models for initial technical stages and master models for definitive working models, including master models for implant and hybrid denture construction including recognition of need for analogues. The role also involves construction of simple technical stages as directed by registered dental technicians and measuring and mixing of chemicals relating to dental technology i.e. anti-expansion liquid. You will assist the Registered Dental Technician and where appropriate other members of the clinical team to deliver patient care; share responsibility for key aspects of housekeeping and stock control; demonstrate a good awareness of cost efficiency; participate in personal career development plan to develop and maintain skills and personal growth through training and education; maintain patient confidentiality at all times. The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday.
