2 Year Modern Apprenticeship – 6 Positions
Title: Information Assistant
Salary: £15,362pa (Based on Band 3 Annex 21)
37.5 hours per week
Location: Gyle Square, Edinburgh

We have an amazing opportunity for you to join our team and receive a structured apprenticeship training programme, working with data that has the potential of improving the lives of every person in Scotland?
We are looking for candidates who have the commitment and motivation to learn new skills and put them into practise in the work environment.  You'll spend most of your time learning on the job, but will also received regular structured training.  The outcome of the training will be a Modern Apprenticeship in Digital Applications SCQF Level 6.  On successfully achieving this qualification, there will be the opportunity to advance to a higher level of apprenticeship in Data Analytics.
Information Services Division of NHS National Services Scotland has over 40 years’ experience of supporting NHSScotland to deliver better health outcomes: better data means better lives.  We are the largest employer of information staff in Scotland.  We work with clinicians, health and social care practitioners, managers, researchers and others across the wider public service and beyond.
During the apprenticeship itself you will receive a detailed training programme supported by QA Training Ltd, mentor support and encouragement so that you will have the foundations of a worthwhile and rewarding career in data analytics. The broad range of tasks
covered by the role means there will be opportunities to:
•    Get involved in designing datasets
•    Collecting and processing data
•    Analyse and interpret data 
•    Present data effectively through data visualisation techniques
•    Delivering data outputs for our stakeholders and customers
What skills, background and experience do you need to apply? 
•     A strong understanding of numerically subjects such as mathematics and computing is essential.
•     (A-C) National 5 or equivalent pass in Maths and English
•    Good IT skills
•    Good verbal and written communication skills, able to prepare concise and easily understood information.
•    Accurate and pays attention to detail.
•    Strong commitment to personal development
