Job Advert

As a vital part of NHSScotland, NHS National Services Scotland’s mission is to enable and support the delivery of better health and better care, working in partnership. We do this by providing a range of specialised support services that enable NHS Boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care.
The Contract, Vendor and Service Management Team (CVSMT) provides expert advice and services across the National Health Service in Scotland and is part of the IT Strategic Business Unit. CVSMT is the principal point of contact between NHSScotland and the suppliers of a range of National IT Service Contracts, which embrace business and clinical systems at both national and local levels.

The CVSMT, on behalf of the Health Boards and Primary Care General Practice, has recently procured next-generation GP IT systems, to be delivered as a centrally hosted managed service, which will be rolled out to all GP Practices across Scotland.   In order to achieve this successfully, the CVSMT is seeking to recruit a GP IT Facilitation Manager, on a fixed term basis for 3 years, to support suppliers in delivering NHS Scotland’s functional requirements, and to work collaboratively with Health Boards, clinicians, GP IT facilitators and eHealth teams through Scotland to ensure successful preparation and deployment of the new GP IT Services, with minimal disruption to health care in GP Practices.  This activity will be supported by an implementation project team and dedicated GP IT staff from the CVSMT.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in the operation of general practice, together with strong project management skills and a detailed understanding of existing GP IT systems. You will have excellent leadership and inter-personal skills and be able to work with health professionals in NSS, NHS boards and Local Authorities.  You will have the ability to manage conflicting demands and differing priorities, and negotiate with customers and suppliers to agree timescales and deadlines. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.

Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.
