Job Advert

The State Hospital wishes to recruit experienced nurses to lead the nursing teams in our Mental Illness wards.
You will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse and it is essential that you have extensive experience working in a forensic setting.
We are looking for a skilled and dynamic nurse who can further develop mental health nursing care to ensure we are promoting recovery and delivering effective interventions in the least restrictive way. Multidisciplinary working is key to delivering a successful service and candidates should be able to demonstrate success as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Senior Charge Nurse needs to be clinically experienced but also have the knowledge and ability to manage clinical issues and staff governance on a daily basis. You will be expected to support the Clinical Operations Manager and Lead Nurse to deliver safe and effective care in line with local and national priorities.

The hours of work can be flexible however it is expected that, in order to lead the team and maximise MDT working, the working week will be undertaken Monday to Friday.  There is a requirement to participate in out of hours site management which will require you to work, on average, one late and one early shift per week and one weekend in five.

For an informal discussion please contact Sandra MacAlister, Lead Nurse on 01555 842063 or Brian Paterson, Clinical Operations Manager on 01555 842015.

If you have any queries regarding the application form or recruitment process, please contact Linsey Norton, Recruitment Administrator on 01698 377667.

Applications from candidates who require a Tier 2 Certificate of sponsorship (formerly Work Permits) will only be considered if no suitable UK or EEA national is identified for this post.  For further information on the UK Border Agency’s new points based System which now governs the way individuals from outside the EEA can work in the UK please visit www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk.
