Senior Charge Nurse - Intellectual Disabilities
The State Hospital wishes to recruit an experienced nurse to lead the nursing team in our Intellectual Disabilities ward.
Ideally, you will be a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse and it is essential that you have extensive experience working with people with learning disabilities in a forensic setting. We are looking for a skilled and dynamic nurse who can advance the learning disabilities nursing agenda in the State Hospital to ensure we are providing contemporary nursing care which allows patients to achieve and maintain their optimum and ultimately move on to less secure environments. Multidisciplinary working is key to delivering a successful service and candidates should be able to demonstrate success as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Senior Charge Nurse needs to be clinically experienced but also have the knowledge and ability to manage clinical issues and staff governance on a daily basis. You will be expected to support the Clinical Operations Manager and Lead Nurse to deliver safe and effective care in line with local and national priorities.
The hours of work can be flexible however it is expected that, in order to lead the team and maximise MDT working, the working week will be undertaken Monday to Friday. There is a requirement to participate in out of hours site management which will require you to work, on average, one late and one early shift per week and one weekend in five.
