As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale – through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services.  Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.

Part time post: 21 hours per week

We are looking for a donor carer driver to join our existing team of staff who provide a high standard of care to our donors.  You should be friendly, enjoy meeting people and be willing to work as part of a team. In addition to providing a high standard of care to our donors you would be expected to transport staff and equipment to sessions. Although based in Dundee you must have a sound knowledge of the geography of the region as extensive travel throughout the region is required.

You must be flexible, and willing to work variable hours. Hours will include occasional Sundays and regular late evenings.

Either a PCV ‘D’ licence (bus with more than 16 seats) or a ‘C’ licence (for a goods vehicle in excess of 7.5 tonnes) is required. Training may be available for suitable applicants who do not possess the above licences

The successful candidate must comply with the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland 2009; and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check.

Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
