You will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a high quality diagnostic service to patients who attend the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Hospitals Infirmary. You will support the clinical decision making of medical staff by providing essential information through recording electrocardiographs (ECG). The main purpose of Electrocardiographs is to help with diagnosis of symptoms and allow medical staff to make clinical decisions to improve patient’s health if possible. You should  also be trained to fit all monitors and scans ambulatory ECG monitors, selecting strips that will be included in the report. This is a trainee post and involves an underpinning of ECG knowledge that can be used in more complex tests when this has been achieved. The trainee will train to carry out Exercise Tolerance Tests but will always be supervised.  This is a trainee post for 4 years to learn the fundamentals of Cardiology, following this period and relevant qualifications there is an automatic upgrade to cardiac physiologist    It is essential that you are a Graduate preferably in a Science subject or that you have equivalent experience and qualifications to gain entry to Degree.  The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 9.00am -5.00pm or 8.00pm - 4.00pm.
