 Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Scientist within the Department of Haemophilia Genetics, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE). This post is funded by the National Services Division (NSD), to provide a molecular genetics service for bleeding disorders in Scotland. 

 The successful applicant may work at the RIE and WGH sites with Clinical Scientist to provide a molecular genetics service for patients and families with inherited bleeding disorders including haemophilia A and B and von Willebrand disease and other haematological disorders. This will involve communication with medical nursing and scientific colleagues throughout Scotland.  The post-holder will also develop new services in accordance with the requirements of the department and will be expected to participate in the delivery of other services within Molecular Diagnostics, RIE.

 We have an active R&D programme within the field of haemostasis and thrombosis and the successful applicant will be encouraged to become directly involved with this, and develop their own research interests.

 Applicants should be HCPC-registered Clinical Scientists in Genetics, however consideration will also be given to pre-registration clinical scientists who have completed their formal training programme and are presently working to develop their portfolio for submission to the Association of Clinical Scientists and subsequent HCPC-registration.
