A vacancy has arisen within ward 44 Planned Care for a Charge Nurse.
Ward 44 is a busy 30 bedded combined gastroenterology and colorectal surgery unit.
You will be joining a well motivated and dynamic multi-disciplinary team who strive to deliver the highest level of care possible be part of a forward thinking unit and committed to team working for the benefits of patients.

You should have extensive knowledge of surgical nursing. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and effective leadership skills are essential. You will support the Senior Charge Nurse in her role and the shift pattern will be as the Directorate demands require. We offer a full range of gastroenterology and colorectal services this includes bowel surgery, gastrointestinal disorders, liver diseases, and specialist management for patients with inflammatory bowel disease. All methods of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy are provided, including endoscopic ultrasound and ERCP essential for the network cancer services for GI and colorectal malignancy. There are regular teaching sessions in the ward providing specialist expertise in biliary and colorectal procedures including surgery and national bowel screening. You should be enthusiastic, dynamic and self motivated with a real interest in this combined speciality ward. We are looking for good team players with excellent written and oral communicators.
