Job Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic mental health nurse to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service covering an age range of 0-18 years. CAMHS forms part of a wider mental health outreach team.

As a service we endeavour to provide dynamic and proactive evidence based care to the population of Orkney which is a geographically diverse area, therefore it is essential to be a car driver. There is also an expectation that the person would participate in the Out of Hours, on call rota.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working with their own caseload as this post requires the ability to work autonomously.   Ideally  you will have knowledge and experience of working in CAMHS. You must have a willingness to undertake ‘Essential CAMHS’ training supported by a mentor if not already completed. Training in a psychological therapy would be advantageous.

The CAMHS Service is supported by visiting Consultant Psychiatrist from NHS Grampian. Orkney is part of the North of Scotland Tier 4 network with access to the Young People’s Unit if in patient care is required. The network is there to support CAMHS staff in the delivery and decision making around tier 4 care.

This post includes Distant Islands Allowance, pro rata
