The Royal Infirmary is a major teaching hospital on the outskirts of Scotland’s capital city providing 24 hour services with a wide range of specialities including A&E and Assessment units, Transplant, General, Orthopaedic and Cardiothoracic surgery, Acute medicine, Neurology, Medicine of the Elderly, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Cardiac and Respiratory medicine.
We require an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy team providing an advanced clinical pharmacy service to patients within Orthopaedic Surgery. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh becomes the Major Trauma Centre for South East Scotland.
You will contribute to the optimisation of medicines, patient flow and quality improvement to Orthopaedic Surgery, but may be required to provide services to other specialities under redesign of services.
The post holder will be expected to provide support and deputise for lead pharmacists and undertake supervision of less experienced pharmacists, technicians and students. You should possess excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent; be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have completed the Pharmacy Vocational Training Scheme (Foundation training) or equivalent. Your experience will have been gained working in a patient focused environment using your knowledge and skills to improve patient care and promote optimal outcomes from medicines.
