An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full-time Band 6 Clinical Trainee post based at South Glasgow Psychotherapy Service, Leverndale Hospital.
The post-holder will work alongside other members of the team within the Psychotherapy service. The post is a developmental one; training in a psychodynamic model with a view to being eligible to apply for a Specialist Practitioner in Psychotherapy (Band 7) post. As such, a commitment to undertaking psychodynamic training to postgraduate diploma level resulting UKCP or BPC accreditation with appropriate continued professional development (CPD) will be expected and funded.
To achieve the duties above there is a clinical focus. Under supervision the post-holder will be expected to develop skills to undertake specialised psychotherapy assessments and treatment interventions in the psychodynamic models. They will work individually and in groups with adults experiencing complex difficulties including co-morbid psychiatric disorders, trauma and personality disorders. They will be expected to maintain and develop links between the Psychotherapy Service and the General Psychiatric Services (both inpatient and community).
The post-holder will work with an allocated case load participating in clinical supervision as appropriate to the models of intervention being offered. They will contribute to the Health Efficiency & Access to Treatment targets (HEAT) as part of a tertiary-care service within a stepped /matched-care model.
The post-holder will be required to hold current registration in one of the core mental health professions (Level 1 registered Nurse in mental health Or Allied Health Professional qualification Or Social Worker registered with the Scottish Social Services council). They must also demonstrate interest, knowledge and experience post registration including relevant psychotherapy training.

The shift pattern for this post is 9-5 monday to friday
