The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE) is a large teaching hospital with an established reputation for offering the best practice over a wide range of specialties.  The Emergency Department at RIE is one of the busiest in Scotland with an average daily attendance of approximately 350 patients.  It serves as a tertiary receiving centre for Lothian and Border regions.  The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is planned to become the Major Trauma Centre for South-East Scotland by 2020.

The pharmacy service at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE) is extending our clinical pharmacy team into the Emergency Department at RIE.  This is a new and exciting opportunity for a passionate and ambitious pharmacy technician to work closely with the ED pharmacist and wider multi-disciplinary team in a patient focused role to optimise medicines use, support patient flow and contribute towards ongoing delivery and development of the clinical pharmacy service to ED.  The post holder will also be a key member of the well established Acute Medicine Pharmacy team.
Candidates must have an HNC in Pharmacy Services Development and Management, the Pharmacy Dispensary Checking Technician (PDCT) National Qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
