The Diabetes and Endocrinology Service within Forth Valley Royal Hospital are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Endocrine Specialist Nurse to support and develop the current service.


Working within a well established team, this appointment will be offered on a secondment basis for 1 year initially, to complement the existing workload but also to develop a speciality nurse service.


Working within our Diabetes team, Day Medicine Unit and Out Patient Clinics, you will be involved in Dynamic Endocrine Testing and helping in the care of people with Thyroid, Adrenal and Pituitary disorders.  You will be supported and developed while working closely with our team of Endocrinologists. There will also be the opportunity to complete the Masters-level module in Endocrine Nursing hosted by Oxford Brookes University


Patient education and self management is key to chronic disease management and the Endocrine Nurse will have the opportunity to support patients through this.


Experience of working within and existing Endocrinology service is essential to this role as is a proven track record of professional and self development in the speciality.


You will require to have some experience of data recording in relation to management of patient outcomes and be able to demonstrate over time how effective the developing service is in relation to treatment and waiting times and patient experience.
