Job Advert

Please note this post is fixed term until 31st March 2021.

As an Occupational Therapist working in a multidisciplinary team in Primary Care, across the Hamilton and Bellshill localities, you will be involved in offering Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to a diverse range of patients.

The occupational therapy service works to improve the health and well-being of patients, age 16 and over, with physical and mental health conditions that impact on their functioning. This may include people coping with the impact of long-term conditions,  people experiencing difficulties at work/college or  falls or frailty or those who may be  socially isolated due to poor health and/or caring roles.

Person-centred assessment, proactive interventions, self-management strategies and supports are utilised to enable patients to manage their health and well-being and continue with their daily lives.

This is an evolving service delivery model and as such the post holder will be involved in promoting awareness and increasing understanding of Occupational Therapy with GPs, the wider multidisciplinary team and the public.

Ongoing service development and  evaluation  with quality improvement support will be  an integral part of this role, building on existing evidence, to inform future Occupational Therapy service delivery across  primary care multidisciplinary teams in Lanarkshire.

Informal enquiries regarding the post will be welcomed by Jacqueline Terrance on 01236 703406.
