Looking for a new and exciting challenge? Then think about working in NHS Forth Valley in the heart of Scotland.

NHS Forth Valley welcomes applications for a Specialty Doctor in Trauma & Orthopaedics to join our department. This post will be offered on a full or part time basis.  The appointment will be subject to the terms and conditions of service for Specialty Doctors 2008. Candidates should have Membership of a UK College of Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeons and at least 2 years’ experience in Trauma & Orthopaedics.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is prepared to contribute to the development of Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal trauma services in NHS Forth Valley.  The post will include involvement in planned orthopaedic surgery as well as the on call trauma service. This will require a contribution out with the normal working day as well as weekends. The successful candidate may also be required to work on a non-resident full shift system.

It is expected and will be encouraged that the successful post holder will develop a sub-specialty interest that will complement the present Consultants in the department.

You can look forward to a warm welcome and strong support from colleagues.  Our hospital is situated in the heart of Scotland, nestled against the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, and close to vibrant towns that are richly endowed with excellent cultural and sporting facilities, offering good transport links to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Applicants should have full GMC registration and a licence to practise and at least 2 years’ experience in Orthopaedics at Specialist Trainee level or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience and competencies.  Excellent communication, listening and organisational skills are essential.
