In conjunction with the management team you will ontribute to and deliver a comprehensive Primary Care as part of a multi­ disciplinary team within the prison setting.  You will operate as part of an extensive multi-disciplinary team, providing the role of the practitioner nurse to undertake assessments, provide and evaluate a range of interventions, to  meet prisoner healthcare needs and contribute to the wider continuous development of prison healthcare services.  You should demonstrate knowledge, skills and understanding of health issues and treatment options to provide clinical guidance to all staff on matters relating to health and wellbeing.  You will carry continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of care and setting the standards of care within a secure environment.  It is essential that you are currently a Registered Adult Nurse with the NMC and that you are educated to degree level or equivalent.  You should have post registration experience working within a relevant clinical setting with an awareness of professional and clinical accountability, legal issues, role limitations and boundaries and balancing duty of care and public safety issues.  You should be literate in current IT techniques with the ability to work on your own initiative.  You should have the ability to priorities workload and meet tight deadlines and have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.  The shift pattern for this post is Early, Late, Nights and Weekend working.
