NHS Orkney are currently creating a Health & Safety Department to meet the needs of an NHS Board which is located in the magical Orkney Islands of Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual with passion and desire; to join and be part of a dynamic, committed team, dedicated to the delivery of a high-quality, compliant, Health & Safety Provision.
The successful individual will focus on maintaining a robust health and safety management system and acting as the Board’s internal expert advisor on health and safety matters. This includes legal compliance, support to the Occupational Health and Safety Committee, policy and strategy development and being champion of health and safety management at tactical and operational levels.
The post holder should be educated to degree level plus a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and have experience as a safety professional with knowledge of working within a healthcare environment. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of working either as the single manager to a medium sized organisation or as the Advisor to a significant operating division of a large organisation. Experience in a multi-site function organisation would also be beneficial.
