This post provides training in cellular therapy and bone marrow transplantation.  The successful candidate will receive experience in all aspects of Bone Marrow Transplant and the use of CAR-T and other cellular therapy.  The post is for a period of 12 months


This is a new post which will support the Adult Allogeneic and Autologous Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Service. There are 5.6 million people in Scotland and the team carried out 85 allogeneic transplants in 2018-19. The West of Scotland Adult Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Service (HSCTS) is currently one of the largest in the UK providing allogeneic transplant services for all of Scotland. It was inspected by JACIE in May 2019 and is waiting formal accreditation.  It is an IMPACT trials centre for clinical trials in allogeneic transplant with a dedicated trials nurse. It has been designated as the CAR-T provider for licensed therapies and the service will be starting up in the autumn of 2019. It is also developing an active clinical trials programme in cellular therapy and is in set up for CAR-T and Tumour Infiltrating Lymphocyte Clinical Trials. It is a member of the INNOVATE UK Northern Alliance of Advanced Therapy Treatment Centre.


The successful applicant will be expected to help in clinical trial set up, recruitment and management of both transplant and cellular therapy patients and develop a research interest.

To practice medicine in the UK you need to hold both GMC registration and a licence to practise.
