This is a new and exciting development within NHS Tayside.  Having secured funding from the Scottish Government to form the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health and  Maternity and Neonatal Psychological Interventions services we are looking for an individual with post qualification and relevant experience in the field.  With a Consultant Clinical Psychologist appointed to the service, leadership, guidance and supervision will be provided.

The Maternity and Neonatal Psychological Interventions service is located within Ninewells Hospital and has close working links to Maternity and Neonatal services.  It is comprised of Applied Psychologists, and the postholder will also work collaboratively with other professionals – including midwifery and neonatal staff, specialist bereavement counsellors and Obstetric staff. The postholder will be required to deliver highly specialist psychological assessments and therapy, and offer advice, training and consultation on the psychological aspects of care.

There will be professional links to the Tayside Area Psychological Therapies service which has a complement of around 150 clinical and applied psychology staff.  The Department provides a friendly, supportive and stimulating environment with a commitment to training of applied psychologists and advancing research.  There are links with the Universities of Dundee, Edinburgh and Stirling.  Members of the department contribute to the supervision and training of trainees on the Edinburgh/East and South of Scotland Clinical Psychology Training programme, the Universities of Stirling and Dundee MSc Adult Applied Psychology course and the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh MSc Child Applied Psychology course
