Transplant, Liver and Gastrointestinal Medicine

The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is a large teaching hospital with an established reputation for offering the best practice across a wide variety of specialist services. The Edinburgh Transplant Centre is based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and undertakes kidney transplants for the East of Scotland, and liver, pancreas and pancreas islet transplants for the whole of Scotland. The Centre for Liver and Digestive Disorders is also based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

 As a result of service redesign, we are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic pharmacist to lead on national and regional services to transplant patients and services to liver and gastrointestinal medicine on the Royal Infirmary site. The post holder will develop, plan and organise the clinical pharmacy service to these areas.  The post holder will be a key member of the multidisciplinary teams where pharmacists have a well established prescribing role.

Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy degree or equivalent, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have relevant post-registration experience with evidence of postgraduate training and professional development.  A prescribing qualification is highly desirable. You must be a confident communicator and demonstrate adaptive leadership skills with a track record of influencing cost effective prescribing.
