Staff Nurse - Named Patient, Community,  Complex Care


  • RN Learning Disabilities, Mental Health or Registered nurse with relevant experience

Duties & responsibilities:

 

We are now welcoming applications from Registered Learning Disability and Mental Health Nurses or Adult nurses with the relevant experience to a named patient care team, hosted by the Complex Care service in Midlothian.

The post holder will have responsibility for caring for an individual client who has a learning disability and challenging behaviour in the client’s own home on a 2:1 basis.

The post holder will be providing support for the client in all aspects of care and activities of daily living, ensuring delivery of a high level of care for the client.

Key requirements:

 

  • The post holder will be a Registered Learning Disability, Mental Health or first level registered nurse with experience working with clients with autism and challenging behavior or similar.
  • A knowledge of NHS environment and current policies affecting the health of the population.
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills, particularly influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Evidence of continual professional development.
  • The ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • The ability to work flexibly as part of the team.
  • General information technology skills, including use of the computer to record and retrieve clinical information.
  • Driving license desirable but not essential.

Our aim is to provide high quality, consistent and continuous care and support enabling the patient to live in their own homes and as normal a life as possible. The team works in partnership with patients, families, Social Work, Education and respite facilities providing up to 24 hour, 7 days a week care through packages of care that are tailored to the individuals needs.
