Applications are invited for the post of Community Learning Disability Staff Nurse within the adult Falkirk Learning Disability Team, an integrated Health and Social Work Team.
This post is permanent and on a full time basis of 37.5 hours per week over five days, The post holder reports to the community learning disability charge nurse.
The post holder should be a highly motivated learning disability nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Extensive knowledge of the range of heath needs that affect people with a learning disability is required. Essential to the role are excellent clinical skills including assessment, treatment planning and interventions; risk assessment & risk management skills; and multidisciplinary & multi-agency care planning.
The post holder will be able to work in a multi-agency environment, utilising creatively the full range of services and resources available under the supervision of the charge nurse. The post holder will have a role in implementing national and local strategies and policies that impact on the lives of people with a learning disability.
Innovative practice, the development of new ideas and on-going professional development are actively encouraged and facilitated within a supportive working environment.
It is essential you are an RNLD, currently on the NMC register, with experience of working in health services for people with a learning disability. Although post registration experience is desireable, this post is open to newly qualified LD nurses
IT skills are essential for this post.
