This role invites a practicing healthcare Practitioner, who contributes towards provision of a comprehensive Audiology Service. Takes part in contributing to service development and maintains professional standards. Assists the Chief Audiologist in the daily clinical work of the department and is responsible for managing own workload and the supervision of Assistant Audiologists. The post involves comprehensive rehabilitative care, complex diagnostic assessments of hearing, and care for all adult hearing aid users, children of all ages, and their carers/relatives. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills with other professionals and service users, including patients, carers and relatives and provide clinical assessments and hearing aid programming and provision using complex computer software and specific specialised hardware. The candidate will have had a lead role in one or more of the specialist areas of Audiology Service provision.


KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

The post holder must be a registered Audiologist with RCCP (Registration Council of Clinical Physiologists) Initial qualification may be BAAT Parts I and II or BSc Hons Audiology or MSc Audiology. The post holder must also be a member of British Academy of Audiology.

The candidate will be knowledgeable and up to date in professional issues, CPD requirements. Candidates will also be IT literate and familiar with Word, Practice Navigator and will have developed communication and negotiating skills.

You will be expected to study to higher levels where appropriate, or to undertake study/training that will assist you in providing a high standard of care in the profession and to maintain a professional CPO portfolio.
