This is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to influence teams in Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCP), NHS Boards and national bodies to improve how people are supported to live well in their community.
Candidates should have knowledge and experience of developing and implementing improvements and extensive experience in a senior social services role with an understanding of Scotland’s social services landscape and professional community.
Healthcare Improvement Scotland’s Communality Care Portfolio works collaboratively with HSCPs and NHS Boards to enable people to live well at home or in a homely setting for longer and avoid unnecessary time in hospital. We currently have two programmes of work, the Frailty Improvement and Hospital at Home Programmes. The successful candidate will be part of the multidisciplinary team delivering these programmes and will provide subject and improvement expertise, professional advice and visible leadership.
The professional lead will have the opportunity to co-design and shape these national programmes to ensure they are relevant, robust and fit for purpose. They will liaise with other National Professional and Clinical Leads, advisors, colleagues in other improvement programmes and professional groups and bodies across the UK and internationally to share learning and best practice.
It is important that candidates understand the role and function of Healthcare Improvement Scotland and the Improvement Hub (ihub). Candidates should have knowledge and understanding of many improvement initiatives and ways to support local teams to identify synergies and work effectively.
Key to the success of this role is influencing people to change their practice or behaviour. The Professional Lead will need to influence other professionals, including peers and people they do not have line management responsibility over. This includes influencing other members of the ihub as they provide professional assurance that all outputs are relevant, rights based, safe and fit for purpose.
