An opportunity has arisen for Clinical Fellow position in Cardiothoracic Surgery to join our team for a period of 12 months from August 2021 with the possibility of extension.
The successful candidates will be fully supported by a thriving and friendly cardiothoracic team. You will share responsibility for the pre-operative assessment, preparation, surgical care and post-operative care of all cardiothoracic surgery patients. This includes attendance at outpatient clinics & MDT meetings, ward rounds and elective and emergency operating sessions. The post holder will contribute to the full shift out of hour’s rota.
Our team of cardiothoracic surgeons undertake the whole range of cardiothoracic surgical procedures including approximately 1400 open heart procedures together with some 600 major thoracic procedures each year. The unit undertakes heart transplantation and VAD implants as part of the Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Unit.
